Tuticorin : Mr.T.Jeniston, resident of Inigo Nagar who
passed Plus Two examinations with flying colours fighting penury, received
financial assistance from Sterlite Copper for pursuing higher studies.
Mr.T.Jeniston
who belongs to fishermen community passed the Plus Two examination from
St.Lasalle Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin with a score of 1000 marks out of
1200 has now been enrolled for Bachelor of Commerce (Computer Application) at VOC
College, Tuticorin.
Mr.Pankaj
Kumar, Vice President, Operations, Sterlite Copper handed over the challan of
the fee paid to the student in a function held at Inigo Nagar. Sterlite would
bear the tuition fee for the remaining year of his studies also.
Sterlite decided to provide scholarship
considering his academic ability and economic status.
Sterlite’s other initiatives to promote
education include Project Ilam Mottukal, where Sterlite supports 5035 girl
children for their education and presenting scholastic excellence awards to the
toppers of Class X and XII examinations.
