Copper has bagged awards in CCQC (Chapter Convention for Quality Circles) State
level competition organised by QCFI (Quality Circle Forum of India) at Madurai
recently.
Sterlite won three gold and three
silver awards for presentations on Elimination of Belt Cuts in ISA feeding
system by installation of magnetic separator in Primary Smelter, Reduction of
bleed consumption from 12.63 M3 to 4.2 M3, Reduction
of water soluble P2O5 in hemi & di hydrate cake
in Phosphoric Acid Plant, Continuous operation of Xray Fluorescence by
provision of Stainless Steel ring in Smelter lab, Elimination of fuel oil
consumption in ISA Primary and Increasing the Sulphuric Acid loading rate from
89 M3/hr to 120 M3/hr with improved safety in Sulphuric
Acid Plant under special case study category.
The company has also bagged first
place in Skit and Poem competitions in the same event. The participants from
Sterlite under each category received the awards from Dr.D.K.Srivastava,
Executive Director, QCFI. 180 teams across various industries representing 80
organizations participated in the event which was witnessed by thousands of
employees.
Qimpro Prize 2012. Sterlite also received the finalist award in the Qimpro
Prize 2012, a convention organised at Mumbai to recognize excellence in team
performance. 85 projects were validated under Process Improvement, Innovation
and Green categories. Sterlite’s project was one of the 10 projects qualified
under Process Improvement Category. Mr.Suresh Lulla, Founder and Managing
Director, Qimpro Consultants presented the award to Mr.S.Annamalai, Associate
Manager, Precious Metals Business, Sterlite Copper.
